about eui enviropro va mold remediation

History

A locally owned and operated mold removal & prevention company for the greater Richmond, VA area.

EUI EnviroPro is wholly owned by Exterminating Unlimited, Inc. For more than 2 decades, EUI has been servicing the greater Richmond metro area in quality pest and moisture control. The secret to EUI’s longevity is attributed to our business approach; a commitment to first rate industry practices, attention to detail, and strong work ethic. We stay in close communication with homeowners and property managers to ensure pest management and mold remediation details are completed on time and to the satisfaction of customer goals.

As a pest control company, we see mold infested crawl spaces and never had an answer that would truly solve the problem—until now! A combination of Moisture Control and new technology allows us to prevent mold.

Why EUI EnviroPro?

Virginia had introduced regulations concerning mold a few years ago and we saw an opportunity to provide a valuable service to our customers. Pest control directly targets moisture, a common breeding ground for many common pests. And moisture control and wood decay fungi is directly related to mold; so there is overlap between what we can do as a pest control company and for mold control. We also realized that by expanding our industry knowledge to include mold, we are able to offer our customers another valuable service. By improving the indoor air quality through moisture control, dehumidification and/or remediation, sensitive individuals will get relief through reduced exposure to mold.

What this means to you:

  • Community — Locally owned by locally grown kids.
  • Stability — In operation for over 2 decades.
  • Industry Expertise — We know things.

Things You Should Know About Mold

  1. Potential health effects and symptoms associated with mold exposures include allergic reactions, asthma, and other respiratory complaints.
  2. There is no practical way to eliminate all molds and mold spores in the indoor environment; the way to control indoor mold growth is to control moisture. If mold is a problem in your home or school, you must clean up the mold and eliminate sources of moisture.
  3. Fix the source of the water problem or leak to prevent mold growth.
  4. Reduce indoor humidity (to 30-60%) to decrease mold growth by: venting bathrooms, dryers, and other moisture-generating sources to the outside; using air conditioners and de-humidifiers; increasing ventilation; and using exhaust fans whenever cooking, dishwashing, and cleaning.
  5. Clean and dry any damp or wet building materials and furnishings within 24-48 hours to prevent mold growth.
  6. Clean mold off hard surfaces with water and detergent, and dry completely. Absorbent materials such as ceiling tiles, that are moldy, may need to be replaced.
  7. Prevent condensation: Reduce the potential for condensation on cold surfaces (i.e., windows, piping, exterior walls, roof, or floors) by adding insulation.
